Regardless of cold temps, wind, and even snow, our winter brides are hardcore! It takes patience and dedication to plan a winter wedding. With the sun setting sooner, it gets much colder faster. Not only that, our brides work diligently to ensure they have enough daylight hours to photograph portraits in! Our winter brides are brave and they are also bold. We have loved seeing how creative they get. Rebecca (a previous BSP intern!) was one of our most memorable winter brides. She incorporated a hot chocolate bar for guests to warm up with and used personalized mugs as wedding favors. We loved all the toppings she had to offer! We are marshmallow and whip cream kind of people when it comes to hot chocolate. Top it off with caramel drizzle and bits of peppermint candy and we are in heaven!
Even though this next idea was actually from our fall bride, this would work perfectly for guests in a winter wedding. Stephanie offered cozy blankets for guests during the ceremony as they waited. Put into a cute basket, it even looks pretty enough to be decor!
It is hard not to notice when the leaves are gone from the trees, but there is something beautiful in the earthy, wooden tones. Darcie, our friend and an event planner with Darling D’s Events, had an incredible vision for a winter wedding. Embracing the natural elements, she incorporated wooden logs, pine cones and evergreen foliage to create a winter woodland dream. We even loved the coconut covered wedding cake. It reminded us of frosted snow –only sweeter! 🙂
