Where do we even big with this amazing couple?
We met Bethany in High School. We happened to live in the same area and attended a high school with a graduating class of about 200. It was a small town where everyone knew every body. And we all knew Bethany’s smile, her big heart, and her warm personality. She radiates beauty inside and out. We got lucky to get to know her even more when she lived in Richmond, not too far from where we currently live.
When we visited, Bethany cooked the most amazing food, gave us the biggest embraces, and made us feel right at home.
That is Bethany.
Kind, gracious, giving, and can make you feel like you are so loved with her friendship and her sincere demeanor.
When she found James and told us about him, we could only imagine how loving James was.
They were 2,000 miles away from us when Bethany asked if we knew anyone close to Lanier Islands, Georgia at the Legacy Lodge to photograph her wedding.
We offered to travel to join them and graciously, she said yes!
We were excited to see Bethany’s warm smile and meet James for the first time.
Weeks leading up to the wedding, Bethany excitedly put together the final touches of her wedding and kept us informed of all the details. We went over the timeline to create a seamless experience, and planned to be there 2 days in advance to visit the ceremony and reception site, making sure our equipment was ready, and attending the wedding rehearsal.
We saw Bethany’s big heart and kindness show when last minute plans fell through and we had to bring our small dog Mo along. Her face lit up when she heard that Mo came and she had us feeling right at ease.
When we finally got to meet James, he is everything you could imagine, and more! He truly is the kindest, sweetest, and most giving soul and we felt every word he spoke was sincere and from the heart. He has a way making you feel like family. We could see just how much they were in love and how they were made for each other.
James is a writer by trade, and his words were spoken so beautifully. We could not help but feel touched by their warmth and their love.
As the reception drew near, we got to spend time with their family and friends, some of who we had already known from High School.
We felt such a connection to the family and loved watching both families shower the happy couple with their love and joy.
The day of their wedding came, and the resort was literally glowing. Under the sun setting over the trees, Bethany and James said their wedding vows with their closest family and friends surrounding them.
As they made their way back up the aisle for the start of the processional, their song was stopped midway. Their family and friends picked up where the song left off and they all sang together as Bethany and James walked the rest of the way up the aisle. It was such a sweet moment that made their vows even that much more sweeter.
At the end of the night, our hearts felt full, and we could not have been more grateful to have known such an inspiring couple and to have met such incredibly loving families.
Their wedding sure was one to remember for a lifetime.
