It’s officially September!! We’re excited for all things pumpkin and the fall wedding season ahead of us. With fall comes cooler temps, boots, scarves and pumpkin spice lattes! And we have to say there’s nothing like bright oranges, yellows and reds popping in images. Plus our birthdays are in the fall season! What more could we ask for?? 😀
It’s easy to see how popular the months of September and October can be for weddings.
There are a few things to keep in mind when your planning your fall wedding day.
As we move into mid September and early October, the light begins to fade much more quickly than in the summer and spring months. The light really comes into play with wedding day images. Depending on the length of your Ceremony, it’s best to plan to begin about an hour and a half to two hours before sunset. This helps to ensure that you’ll have enough time to get those dreamy, glowy images right after you’ve been announced as husband and wife!
Speaking of light, with the sun going down quicker, it starts to get colder much sooner. So if you can, plan for warmth! Work in a fur wrap with your wedding dress or even a dress with delicate lace sleeves. To help your bridal party stay warm, you could include shawls, cardigans or fur wraps to help keep warm in the colder temps. We’ve even carried blankets and hand warmers with us to help keep the bridal party stay warm in between portraits. Every little bit helps!
